Happy Halloween from Go Pave Utah

Happy Halloween from Go Pave Utah!

The origins of Halloween can be traced back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which was celebrated on October 31st. Samhain was a time to mark the end of the harvest season and to welcome the new year. The Celts believed that on the night before Samhain, the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead became thin and that spirits could cross over into the world of the living. To protect themselves from the spirits, the Celts would wear costumes and make offerings of food and drink. They would also light bonfires to ward off evil spirits.

In the 8th century AD, Pope Gregory III designated November 1st as All Saints' Day, a day to honor all Christian saints. The night before All Saints' Day became known as All Hallows' Eve, and eventually Halloween.Irish and Scottish immigrants brought Halloween to the United States in the 19th century. The immigrants brought with them their traditions of trick-or-treating, costume parties, and pumpkin carving.

Halloween quickly became a popular holiday in the United States. It is now one of the most celebrated holidays in the country. People of all ages now enjoy Halloween, which is a fun and festive holiday. It is a time to celebrate the harvest, to remember the dead, and to have some spooky fun.
