As part of the national celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, Utah Global Diplomacy is proud to host America 250 – Dining Around the World, a community potluck that honors the diverse people, cultures, and stories that continue to shape America today.

Rather than hosting our traditional Dining Around the World event this year, Utah Global Diplomacy will celebrate our country’s historic milestone by bringing the spirit of global connection closer to home—through the vibrant and diverse communities we have here in Utah.

Event Purpose

This America 250 celebration will:

• Honor America’s legacy as a nation shaped by people from around the world
• Celebrate the diverse cultures and traditions represented in Utah communities
• Foster cultural integration, belonging, and neighbor-to-neighbor connection
• Showcase diplomacy in action through food, hospitality, and community engagement

Event Format

Attendees are invited to create a welcoming communal experience by bringing:

• A dish, dessert, or beverage to share
• Small personal shade structures (larger setups will require permits)
• Yard games or family-friendly activities
• Cultural displays, traditions, or music

Together, participants will transform Fitts Park into a celebration of both American history and the global communities that define its future.

Community Partner & Co-Host Opportunities

Utah Global Diplomacy welcomes nonprofits, service organizations, cultural groups, and civic partners to participate as promotional co-hosts by:

• Sharing the event with their audiences
• Hosting their own table with food, activities, or games
• Bringing flyers or informational materials
• Displaying a banner about their organization
• Engaging directly with community members

This model emphasizes collaboration, participation, and community-building over financial sponsorship.
